Alcee H. Walker: Chasing a dream through the pain of love

A well-traveled man at the early age of 23, this filmmaker was born in West Palm Beach, Fla., then moved to Canton, N.Y. to attend the alma mater of Amsterdam News Editor-in-Chief Elinor Tatum, St. Lawrence University. DGA RECOGNIZES ALCEE H. WALKER

Local filmmaker Alcee H. Walker was recognized again by the Directors Guild of America (DGA) Student Filmmaker Awards. Walker is a passionate filmmaker from West Palm Beach and received a Jury Award from the DGA in the category of Best African American Student Filmmaker East Region. BHERC Hosts 22nd Annual Reel Black Men Film Festival

The 22nd Annual Reel Black Men film festival debuted eight films by emerging African American filmmakers telling real stories about real life issues. The event showcased films ranging from a variety of engaging topics and perspectives discussing domestic abuse, social stereotypes, immigration, mental health, aging, Black history and trauma.
